I purchased the wheel and airbag separately, ordered silver surround, springs and rewired it. The wheel came of a GT3 race car, I did not need to change the horse shoe like you do with the sport design wheels on my car 997 2006 C2. Not sure why as the horse shoe was original. You do need to reset the car I'm told my indie charged £50 so it must be easy.

I have the button inserts somewhere (came with the new shroud) and toggle (not sure you could get the toggle working) with an adapter from here you could get the buttons working

Just buy a black insert of Porsche to swap out the silver one.

The Airbag is domed (better than the flat ones on sport design type) and not cheap or easy to get, it all worked in my car so it's a complete package, start with no buttons and add them later if you want but no need. Makes tiptronics and PDK's way more usable. It updates the interior from the horrible triangle wheel. Its all black so works in most interiors. I would like £850 for quick sale and ideally pickup from Twickenham as you can't post Airbags and you get to see it first. Her indoors is bemused by how much I spent on the new car. I have LED taillights and sprint booster as well listing soon

if you want to you can have the buttons as the link to the facebook page

of course this will work with a 991 out the box

so it looks like everybody does things by PM's. I have interest in the black surround and toggle separately from the wheel.

this will not effect the wheel sale

I've seen a couple of similar wheels on eBay and they are from the same place you got the surround. I presume they were ok to deal with.

Does this setup with the paddles speed up the gear changes on the Gen 1 tips, or merely change the method from buttons to paddles?

I find the standard buttons are very slow to react & sluggish, so you have to change a way before the redline.

The wheel makes changing gear better as its more logical and it is a lot thicker wheel IE a lot nicer...

I put on a sprint booster and to me it improved the response not to PDK level but for a cheap upgrade well worth it!

I have mine still as I sold my NA 997.1 so you can make a offer for it. I have box instructions and guarantee just not advertised it yet

for people who want to get the radio buttons working there is a adapter supplied from the link above, here is the website

https://gpsadapter.us/

they list support for these cars

911 (2005-2016)*
Cayman (2009-2016)
Boxster (2009-2016)
Panamera (2010-2016)
Cayenne (2011-2015)

this implies that the wheel will work in these cars

*Adapter fit Carrera 997.1 need upgrade the steering column module to 997.2(997.613.289.01)

but i did not need this as I did not use the radio buttons

Buttons in a Panamera if you add the module

Willing to sell airbag alone + ship?

Sent you a pm as well

Is the chrome bezel metal? I wasn't so impressed with the wheel in the Boxster I test drive a while back. It was this type but was plastic and didn't look so nice like the 997.2 sport wheel which was metal.

it looks better than the sport design in my current car... still thinking of swamping them over
