After 3 years my 997.2S is for sale. I am going to be very sorry to see her go.

It has without doubt been the best car I have owned and the help and info here has been brilliant too - thank you. If I sell the car I have been considering anything from an Atom, Exige, R8 but I think I have settled on a 981 boxster.

I live up on the Western Isles and spend a lot of time on the West Coast which is part of the North Coast 500 route. Some top down driving is what I am after - my 3 year daughter will love it I am sure.

I have had 1 telemarketing phone call and 1 other enquiry - I know it is Jan. but I think I have this priced fairly if not low? I guess remote island location (despite being garage) isn't very handy.

Any thoughts - I can take it to the mainland next month Aberdeenshire for a couple of weeks just don't like taking it out this time of year unless it is bone dry.

Smudge.

Although the pictures show it you don't mention in your ad that it's an 'S'.

Some potential buyers will just browse past a car that doesn't obviously fit one of their key criteria.

I expect the price will need to be lower to get any buyers.

Added it is an S what an idiot!! added 3.8 too just to be clear - Cheers T8 glad I asked.

Ouch - my car up for at least £5,000 less than anything close at OPC with 14 months transferable warranty. :dont know:

I think the price is about right, low miles for 2008 and has PSE warranty etc

Colour and location more likely the issue, i would be patient someone who wants a silver one with auto box will pay that

Just the time of year I imagine.

Have considered sale or return through a specialist dealer?

Some ads around Aberdeen where the oil money is?

Cheers pcat - I can take it to the mainland for a bit. Will give that a try next month if no joy. I could always keep it - I got well stiffed for a 991.2 GT3 at a Scottish OPC - I left a deposit 3 years ago this year - long story... I still have a deposit down for a GT4 if they make a 718. I don't have much hair left these days for top down driving anyway

I also have a set of hardly used n rated winter tyres and refurbed wheels I bought from Chirs at Elite I might include if people want to use the car Spring and Autumn as I did in the first year - they cost £1200 could post those separately.

It is a pain up here but ferry back to the mainland is only £60 including a car and they do a good curry and fish and chips only 2 hours 30mins. Flights via Glasgow, Inverness and Edinburgh here less than £100. £40 if you book non peak just a bit of time and an epic drive home!!

Thanks James - that is a good shout. I worked in Aberdeen for 10 years and there are signs of things getting better at long last. I will have a look at a few local dealers see whats what - hadn't thought about that. I wonder what they would take - will make some calls...

GT Silver and Artic are pretty cool to me at least. All the other silvers you can keep. I had a black car once never again unless the front is Xpel Wrapped and the rest ceramic coated. White and lava orange not for me either - colour definitely subjective. I had a go in a GT3 RS in lava orange on a Silverstone day - I wouldn't have said no to that
