Anybody's 996 GT2 [Cat C] on ebay

It's not the amount or type of damage that means its a cat c or d, it's the expected cost of the claim. C just means it is a bigger % claim.

Add in 3 months claims management company rental of an equivalent car for a non fault claim and costs soon rise.

So it could be bent, or it could just be panels, you don't know unless you see pictures and documentation from the time.

Seller probably had a friend bid up to a reserve to get around having to pay the reserve fee.

Looks like 60-65k is the fair price for it if that's what legit bidders gave up on... 80k seems optimistic

Just looks scruffy for some reason? Wouldn't buy a cat C, strength has gone & it will never drive right & be a nightmare to sell on (as the current chancer is finding out!)

Lots of Cat C cars have no structural damage whatsoever, even the new 'S' category can be really misleading, we just did a Fiat 500 that was categorised S as the rear panel was slightly moved in where the bumper attached, hardly damage that needs worrying about.
