Isn't it the factory clearcoat/lacquer that yellows in the first place though? Because that is the problem and the reason why you're restoring them to begin with :lol:
But seriously though, I did mine over a year ago - limited use but still they look exactly the same as the day I did them (no lacquer), and have heard similar from other people - so not sure how essential it is to re-lacquer once they've been polished.
Did the headlights on another of my cars (2004 Mercedes) and that's driven in all weathers and parked outside and they're just fine too (plastic lenses/no lacquer applied)
Probably the lacquer helps prevent scratching of the plastic lens but you can always quickly buff them up in seconds if needed as you won't have the damaged lacquer to remove first :thumb:
