What did you buy your 993 this week ?

Boot liner

Andy, hope this explains the technique and what you need. The boot liner looks loose and whenever you put anything in the front the velcro would just come away and the liner sag. (OK many I hear say, who puts anything in the front?...I do)
The boot liner has three stud fasteners already, holding the back in so firstly loosen those and remove the liner, then remove the 4 hex head self tappers either side that hold the small metal plate with the velcro discs. You then need to punch out the soft rivet and scrap the discs. Replace these discs with the appropriate half of the stud fastener. The kits come with all the necessary pieces, I got a set of 10 (15mm) H/D from eBay for £4. You can obtain kits from high street retail outlets, they will have the necessary punches etc I already had the punches so only needed the fasteners. Refit the plates with the self tapper hex head screws.
Before you refit the liner and mark off where the new fasteners will match up, remove the stitching of the hook part of the velcro, it makes attaching the outer part of the fastener much easier, then rivet the outer part through the liner one by one (I found it easier doing one side at a time, rather than all at once) and that is it. The finished job looks so much better and now the liner stays in place always.
I also took on board the tip for inserting a piece of wire through the bead on the pocket, no sagging there now.

Gearbox Oil Change, Oil Line repair (pin hole on a return line) and Outer CV Gaiter replaced using new Gaiter Kit.

Small service and brake fluid change. No issues except windscreen washer jets have stopped working, although headlamp washers fine... :dont know:

And rear tyres at the limit. Think I will buy full set and finally get a geo done.

Presumably the interior switches operate as per normal? If so, that's a really smart solution.

Relay? Had this happen on my headlight washer jets.

Funny you should mention headlight jets. My ones also did not work. Checked the fuse and all okay. Checked the relay and thought it was faulty.

I looked at Design911 and they wanted (hope you are sitting down) £192.54 for a replacement

You can get replacements from Bosch that fit different Porsche models. Part Number 1397328015.
Picked up a second hand on for a tenner on eBay. Around £30 new. Fitted this evening and now works like a dream.

Because I'm not as flexible as I used to be.

Invaluable little gadget I found in a local garden center, every geriatric 911 owner should have one.

Yes that is a bit inflated. But like their stock. Likewise I picked mine up for circa 40 quid.

OEM mats.......they supplied LHD, and I think for a 964. Lucky I hadn't set on on undoing the runners before I tried them.

Then thought I better check the other purchase before opening it.

OEM indoor cover....they supplied one for a 964.

OPC becoming a drop in centre on the way to work!

At least the widget was correct.

Yes, that was directly the point. Didn't want dead switches (new blanks) and lost functionality (although only used FLs once).

Now I'm on to Allan's Velcro pooper replacement fix - looks great....
