Anyone have any experience with remapping their 997.1?

My car's had a bit of work done prior to my purchase, engine rebuild with Shrick cams, full Milteck system with 200 cel cats, GT3 throttle body & airbox mod.
Absolutely flies but low down is a little bit Woolley and I'd like to make it a bit more tractable for everyday use.
It's already had a remap but does anyone have any experience with suitable companies in the Midlands/Northants area?

As mentioned in my last post here:http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=123325&start=20

I supposedly had my old 997 Cab remapped, but I say supposedly because the work was carried out by a PorscheShop so it's possible they didn't do anything. However if they did do something it didn't feel any different afterwards. I wouldn't bother unless there is a very reputable specialist out there (9e, Tech9 etc.) offering gains, improvements I wouldn't bother.

DMS in Southampton did my 997.1, SL500 and DB9 very pleased each time
my current 997.2 was remapped by regal motorsports before I got it and have often wondered if a DMS remap would move it up a notch. :thumb:

I do like the idea of ramus and dms on the same site , thats where I would be heading infact for me its even worth the drive to the midlands to get that combo.

My car was remapped by DMS, but mine is a turbo. But they are certainly knowledgeable in the subject. I would recommend them also.

Yep Rob at DMS is the man you need for this ! :)

On a NA engine I'd recommend EVOMSiT through Regal in Southampton.

Yes I had a DMS remap on the gen1 and a regal motorsport remap on the gen2
both are good options :thumb:

OMG I can't believe how are recommended DMS! :frustrated:

Please use ESMotor, 9e, Tech9... anyone but DMS

+1 mate
I'd rather keep my 997 stock than take it there.

Well Ade must have not had a good experience with DMS but his suggestions of the other three are all very good and I have never heard anything bad only good about ESmotors and there vids say it all but how are they with NA cars.

I've not used DMS myself but i know of 2 close friends that have, 1 needed a new engine after it was tuned lean and another had his diff trashed after they put his R8 on their rolling road without first disconnecting the propshaft and making it 2wd. I've heard several other horror stories but those 2 i know of personally.
On top of that i've seen DMS tuned 911 turbos with *cough* 640bhp run at TV & VMAX barely reaching speeds stock 911 turbos were reaching.

I agree whilst i'm sure they can do it Phil is right and ESMotor are probably not the right tuners for a non turbo car but whoever the OP uses please don't risk it with DMS.

Based on what ES can do to Turbo cars thet have to be worth a call just to see what they say. or the guys that did my gen2 Regal motorsport. but there are a few that come with good reviews on here Wayne at chipwizards is another one to consider. :thumb:

It is amazing how they can reach those figures on their dyno without changing turbo's and intercoolers.
Pretty sure there was a thread on here a few years back where they changed someones Gen2 intercoolers for GT2RS ones :?:

Yeah there was, i remember that... I like to think thats more naive than dishonesty but you would think they would question themeselves when they took the old ones out and they looked the same and had the same part number as the GT2RS ones :floor: :floor: :floor:

I had a play once with a DMS tuned 911 turbo back when mine had the basic ES600 exhaust and map and pulled on him like a train. We pulled over and chatted and he couldn't understand how he couldn't keep up as his was DMS tuned producing 640bhp on their rolling road :floor: :floor:
