Today I cleaned up the bumpers and fitted mini chrome wiper blanks in place of the rubber grommets and fitted the obligatory D sticker 8)

Good luck. Looking forward to seeing it afterwards :thumb:

Sorry if you've already said, but who's doing the work :?:

It's a good friend of mine from Manchester who is a panel beater by trade and has done some mammoth restoration work on all types of car to an impeccable standard.

He is doing the preparation at his own unit and it is booked in for the paint at his place of work when he has worked his magic.

I test drove the E61 M5 estate when it was first released. I had one of my E46 M3s at the time. It was a superb car, I absolutely loved it!

I still look at them and wonder what reason I could think of to add one to the fleet but the circumstances have never materialised where it would serve a purpose unfortunately. Plus, I'm hearing tales of large engine work being needed after 50-60k miles on the V10 unit which is rather off putting..

Mike has got stuck into my car and as ever what lies beneath is more than anticipated.
It's in great hands and I am confident this will be a top car when he has done his work.

A bit harsh writing all over your car in marker pen Kas
But all parts except the outer sill covers are easy to get from Restoration Design E.U and don't cost a great deal.
Good progress though. Make sure it's done for 2019 as it will be '50 Years' of the 914.....prices should then rocket
