The smiles from Mons were forgotten for a while (119 miles / 2.75 hours to be precise) as reported previously.

An excellent late lunch in the Grand Square at Mons. Unfortunately our tardy arrival time meant us leaving the town in rush-hour!

PLAN :

1850. Latest Check In at Calais for 1920 Shuttle.

ACTUAL:

Rush-hour out of Mons, loads of roadworks and some heavy rain meant post 7pm arrivals at Calais. Some got the 2020. Others the 2050 !!

At least it allowed plenty of time for last photos of our cars in France though. Thumb

Great pictures and write up Terry. It was obvious that you'd put a lot of work into planning this trip, much appreciated. Thumb

Looked like a great trip Thumb

I'll be heading to Spa this Friday for the classic 6 hour racing, I hope the weather is as kind to me as it seemed to be for you.

Many thanks to Terry for organising and to everyone for making it a great ittle trip. A few pics:

The weather wasn't looking good for the weekend as this is what it looked like as I departed, thankfully we got lucky and it dried out:

A few Porsche race cars on the Sunday morning:

A pic Bruce took of mine:

This restaurant sounded interesting:

After lunch. Scenic tour to Spa with stops TBC. NB: Direct to Spa from Chimay is 93 miles.

113 miles cross country done. Big thanks to 'longers' (FastTrack Tours) for advising that the 30 mile stint from La Roche-en-Ardenne to Stavleot was a 'must do' part of the trip.

You're welcome Terry thumbsup

Looks like you all had a great time.

Don't forget the Spa Classic next May. There are always plenty of old school cool Porsches taking part in the racing and you also have the chance to book the 30 minutes Parade Laps when you can take your car onto the circuit. There is a pace car but it sets a fast pace; there are no speed limits and I've yet to see anyone able to keep up with it!

Who was tanking round Spa in a yellow Fiat 500 Dont know

That place brings back memories especially a circuit that seems to sit across 3 climate zones what

I recognise that gaff at Chimay. Is that where the monks brew the beer? If so that car park was the scene of a classic 993 repair masterclass in 2015 Rolling Eyes

Hi Rob

Dates and prices should be confirmed by end of October hopefully.

Options will include:
- 3 night packages at Spa, making your own way there.
- An extra night in the Ardennes on the way travelling as part of a group with some of the FTT team looking after you, or...
- (if dates work out as expected) you will be able to tag the Spa Classic onto our 7 night tour to the Historic Monaco GP which is taking place the weekend before to make an epic trip (journey from Monaco to Spa will include the Alps, Vosges and Black Forest).

I'll share full details in the forum when I have them - I suggest we keep this topic on topic! (Apologies Terry Smile )
