Retrofitting heated seats into a non-heated seats car

Hi,

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a 911 that lacks heated seats but has all of the other spec i would like. It is currently fitted with the standard 14-way Sport seats and i intend to fit a set of the 18-way Sport plus seats with heating.

Has anyone done this and if so, is it as simple as bolting the replacement seats in, plugging in the elec connections at the seat end and then replacing the A/C control switches for a set that have the heated seat button or is there a lot more to it?

Thanks

James

Even if the wiring loom did support it by default (you'll have to wait for the experts to chime in for that - I don't know how modular 991 seat connections are), I would be very surprised if it worked without an OPC or specialist independent having to plug a PIWIS console into it to enable the change.

Thanks for the response.

I must admit i'm a little skeptical but am being told that the connections are the same. It was mentioned that the car/ECU may need told that there are now heated seats but that the loom supports it from the factory so no wiring needed. As i said, it sounds a little too good to be true if i'm honest.

Did you do this, did it work?
