My 997.1 Progress so far

Cool thread, I used to get my R32 services by AMD as it goes. I am tempted to lower my Cayman, purely for the look.

Nice work on the keys by the way.

How about LED conversions for the interior and exterior? Worth doing IMO.

4. Trazitblu HF. Bluetooth box for the original stereo. Bought again of ebay for about £95. To be honest I wasn't expecting great results but am very happily surprised. Removed the PCM, cut into the supply and routed the mic up to the cabin light housing blanks in the head lining. Must say for the money I cant fault it. Very good sound quality, calls are very good, no issue with the sound quality on the other end even when calling car to car. Cant recommend it strongly enough if you want to retain original PCM but add Bluetooth.

I'm selling a new one if anyone is interested complete with the required Porsche adaptor:

Didn't think I'd like black rims on the silver 997 but you proved me wrong there ; Looks fabulous!

To the above questions.

There is no drone with the gundo at legal speeds. You don't really notice it at all. When pushing on at you do start to hear it but I wouldn't describe it as a drone.

I do fancy some LED rears but will keep my eye out for a decent second hand set as I don't fancy the £400 for a new set.

Happened to be in a local shop today and noticed they did vinyl cutting so got a little sticker cut for the garage to remind me what car I'm driving.

Liking your style!

How about the interior bulbs?! I think the Orange halogens dates the inside somewhat, worth swapping out for LEDs.

Like the key rage! Never seen one get so F*&ked up like that. Have done this on three cars now.

Car is looking good.

Cheers Isysman. Interior works with Linas next. I know you know all about that. Also work on yachts. Engineer or Captain?

Well it's been a while since I started this thread but I thought it was time for an update.

I've had the car for just over a year and still very much loving it.

The modding has continued as follows-

-LED interior lights. Nice little mod, easy and gives the interior a nice lift.
-Alcantara steering wheel, gaitor, hand break and arm rest done by Royal Steering wheels. Very good value and service.
-LED rear lights bought of a fellow 911UK member. Very pleased with the look.
-Personal 5 digit number plate. I removed the old one to fine the bumper looking like Swiss cheese due to previous owners screwing through the mounting plate. I had the front bumper re-sprayed and mounted the shorter plate direct to the bumper.

Today was the big one. Old PCM out and replaced with a no name brand NaviPlayer unit. Found one on a US site and ordered it up. Removed aircon controls and PASM unit, stripped them down and painted to match the new stereo.
Relatively easy swop due to no BOSE or steering controls. A bit of re-pining of the plugs to power up the amp but relatively easy.
Really improves the sound from the original speakers and I now have an up to date unit that blends in nicely in my opinion. It runs Android so I can run waze. Spot on.

That looks awesome!

Keen to hear your thoughts on the unit as you use it some more.

What spray paint did your use? And how did you prepare the surrounds?

Well done mate , car looks great I really like the black console mod and that head unit looks almost OE ,I would love a bit more info on how you got it to fit etc. :thumb: :thumb:

Just spotted this thread for the first time but will be looking out for it going forward.

Some nice mods going on mate and the car is looking lovely, by the locations you are getting the work done you must be another Essex bo. We really should do a meet somewhere as there seems to be a few of us from the area on here atm.
