I showed this super old short-chassis 911 for a friend at Classics at the Castle. 1967 911S. 2.0-litre with Webers. I drove up to the garage that was fettling it in my 993 and picked it up. Swapped over again this morning. (Good to meet fellow Slate Grey 993-er AD64 at the event).

The 911S was certainly an experience and getting back into the 993 was like picking up a new 991 at £100k+... Just shows how good all the cars are. I really would not swap out of the 993 into (say) a 997 G2. Like to have a go in 1973 2.4S, though.

Interesting, I have a 993C2 that has been unused for 3 years. I just give it a run up and down the road occasionally.
I also have a 996 Turbo that I have been using for the 3 years.
I recently got the 993 back on the road and whilst the power and handling of the Turbo is far superior to the 993, the 993 feels like a newer, quieter more refined car ....its really much more comfortable.
Id love to have a go in a older 70s model though Thumb

I absolutely adore the 60s 911s. BUT (and it's quite a big but) I really do not like stick-on bumpers!! That's why, for me at least, the 993 is so pretty. You still have those classic porsche lines (to a large extent) but the bumpers are integrated into the coach-work. It's Hatter genius I tell thee.

Given the choice I'd like to get my hands on a 356b or c and whip them bumpers of quick-sharp.

great cars the '67S .. I've driven quite a few time a RHD 67S and used to own a 'normal' 1967 2.0swb

personally, i prefer driving the LWB cars .

A well sorted 2.4S is a peach. For me , many cars have come and gone, but my 2.4S is still the one I grab the keys for if I want a quick fun blast out .

Hi Steve,
Good to finally meet you too and thanks for the comments about my car - hopefully catch up for a 993 meet somewhere in Herts soon

Andrew
