Through a weird twist of fate, I am getting a brand new Michelin Super Sport sent to me. What is the best way to store it until I need to whack a new set on the car?

Cool, dark and dry presumably?

Is there a shelf life for tyres, can I keep it for 6-12 months or what have you?!

Flat like donuts....orherwise you'll get flat spots from resting on the same position too long.

Cheers Gents, so even when not mounted they shouldn't be stored upright?

That is annoying given where I would like to keep it.

Depending on the time, it should be ok to store it upright as long as you rotate them regularly.
I bought a set on offer a few years back & stored them for over a year rotating them a 1/4 turn each month.
No problems after fitting.

Cheers, Clanky, I will be keeping it down at my Mum's near to Precision. So will turn it every time I am down.

Did you wrap them in plastic or anything?

I didn't bother wrapping them or anything. They were just stored out of direct sunlight.
