My thanks to Sid at Porsche Torque for spotting this on a service.
The corroded pipe is one carrying ATF to the oil cooler.
It was corroded to the point of leaking and was not far from breaking completely.
The consequences if it had failed and dropped the ATF while driving would probably mean a new box
If you have a Tip it might be worth a look to check condition.
