WANTED 996 manual

Hold out for a C2 Captain, if that's the one you want.

I almost gave in and looked at C4s when I was searching a year and a half ago, but I'm glad I waited.
C2s sell faster for a reason. That's good if you ever need back out of it in a hurry.
They're also the purer drive obviously with less weight over the front to dull the experience and no front diff to go wrong or start leaking.

Be patient but be ready to go. A good C2 will sell within a day or two, or if not then certainly by the weekend after its listed, when a distance buyer can get to it.

Good luck. :thumb:

I'd have a C2 too if I didn't have the boxster. In fact I should have bought one at the low water mark about 3 years ago when they were stonking value for money.

The days of the rock bottom 996.1 C2's has long gone now. After the C4S I think they are the pick of the N/A non GT bunch, certainly a car that will rise in value over time. I'd hold out if I were you OP. Plus, whilst the colour of the C4 in the advert is unusual, let be honest its friggin minging!!

Im looking for a manual 996 with the GT3 kit.
Ideally in black yellow or red but would consider other.
Up to 15k to spend if the car has had the ims replaced with paper work to show.

Ignore doing anything with the ims bearing on a 3.4. Better than any retrocrap fitted.

Will this float your boat?

Ooh, that looks lovely.

Looks like it sold on eBay for £12k recently, and its now back on the market for a fair bit more £! Somebody has made or is making a fair bit off it.

I posted this on the P'heads thread but thought I'd add it here.

I just missed this car when I bought mine a year and a half ago. It was listed on a Friday night and sold before I could get up to Scotland on the Saturday morning.

I normally dislike Arena red and suicide Savannah but I think they look quite classy on this car.

No connection whatsoever to me. I just think it could look lovely when detailed etc.
Low miles too. Although I'm guessing there'll be some gaps in the history as it's approaching 20 years ok and has only had 9 services. Go off recent pampering though and it's had plenty.

How about this:

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C888203

2001 model C4 manual with the factory fitted GT3 Aero kit. It has a full service history @ OPC or specialist dealers with plenty of paperwork and all previous MOT's
it has 101,000 on the clock (may go up a bit as still in use)
recent work, 4 new tyres (continental sport contact) 4 new coffin arms, full alignment, annual service
it is in Artic Silver with very good paintwork
it has black leather interior with Alcantra headlining
it also comes with fantastic sounding Dansk S/S sports exhaust

:welcome: to 911uk.

Sadly I fear your budget may be a few £k light.

Good Luck though. :thumb:

I think maybe T8 summed it up at the start, especially if you are going to be picky about colour.

996.1 manual with Aerokit = rare.
Red and Yellow = unicorn hunting.
Black = They do pop up.
Black with Aerokit = rare.
Black, manual with Aerokit and under £15k (I can't see where you've stated your budget) = pretty much impossible.

Even if you're prepared for a long wait that won't help as prices are only going up. Interest started growing at the end of '14 and has positively snowballed this last year.

Good luck but I think at least one item of your criteria has to give, colour, budget, transmission, Aerokit.
