996.1 c2 whining noise on deceleration

Hi hope you can help I have noticed a whining noise when i drive the car hard then take my foot of the gas.
I noticed if you switch of the AC compressor the noise stops
Is there a clutch or bearing going on the compressor

Any ideas ??
 
It may need re-gassing. It certainly solved my air-con noise issue and is normally the cheapest option...
