Bought my car at 5 years and 4 months old and 41k miles. Moved from Mobil 1 0W40 about a year after I bought the car (@ 46k miles) to Millers 5W40. Even though I wasn't using a lot of oil (according to Porsche recommendations) but it cut my oil consumption by half. I'm now topping up occasionally with 300ml at a time and I use about 1 litre a year (circa 5000 miles) :thumb:

I use millers nano 10w50 , I understand Hartech use 5w40 while the rebuilt engine is getting run in then suggest going to 10w50 :thumb:

which oil

I used millers nano 10w50 in my 997.1 C2S
it raises the oil pressure slightly.
I change the oil ever 5k miles, or every year.
20k or 2 years seems to long in my mind.

What oil is recommended for a 997.1 turbo ?

Cheers

Tim

I'd like to know what the majority of 997.1 Turbo owners use, i'm just about to use 0-40 Mobile 1 bought from Opie oils with the 10% discount 9ltr plus oil filter for £77.84 delivered

997.1 Turbo - Millers Nanodrive 5W40.

TBH, pretty much any fully synthetic oil that meets or exceeds the spec' (although not approved) will 'do' nowadays. Even Asda branded meets the oil spec' set by Porsche! There are so many brands that meet the spec', but only a few are approved and 'in bed' with Porsche.

Used to use Mobil 1 0w-40.... then Emre at ESMotor recommended i use Millers 10w50 so swapped to that.

Mine's just had a service at an OPC and they used Mobil 1

I had millers 10/50 in the previous car. Biggest PITA was that you had to be prepared to buy a litre or two to drive around with . Not many places sell it, so you couldn't just pick some up from local petrol station.

The old car used to drink a bit... Later found out I had a hole in a pipe :frustrated:
