Insurance renewal time

Just changed from Locktons to Admiral Multi Car with agreed value. Very happy so far

Had quote from Locktons which was reasonable, did you move for price or better overall cover?

I've often used Matt at Henderson Taylor. Nice lad and usually the cheapest with proper cover such as main dealer windscreen if required, buy back if written off etc.
Unfortunately he couldn't get near my multicar quote this year, so I've added it onto that with admiral. £220 per year but I didn't know they do agreed value so will have to look into that.

I'm sure though that the level of cover won't be as good as the specialist companies. In fact I'm sure I tried to get an OPC windscreen for my GT3 when I was last with admiral and it wasn't worth the hassle. I had to pay the £800 then claim it back according to the barely understandable Indian guy on the phone. I just didn't like the sound of it.
That's the only problem with Admiral. When you get a quote and take out a policy you get an English call centre (Wales actually) but when you ring to make an adjustment or windscreen claim you get passed around an Indian call centre. Very frustrating.

To be honest I'm just winging it this year by going with Admiral. The car rarely moves due to other things going on. I will look into "proper" cover next year when I'm actually going to do some decent miles.

Aviva multicar seems to provide a better policy than admiral. You get a choice of repairer from their list, which includes a couple of Porsche approved body shops.

AIB were almost £1k more, although arguably better cover.

Mines coming up, i used Bridle as my broker and insured by Keith Michael's, just taken out another policy for a JDM Impreza with them being cheapest (didn't search everyone but adrian flux couldn't get close), so might end up renewing with them if they come up trumps on the 996 again,

They offer all mods covered and do offer a guaranteed value that i will be doing this year, can i ask how was this achieved? did they want pictures etc? did you have to haggle on what the price was offered?

To add Bridle have a good call centre calls answered quickly and seem to be a small group of people so get to deal with the same person each time ie ask for the guy you want or have dealt with before, i was even called back out of office hours to sort a problem i wanted amending that day.

Cheers

Ive been with Admiral for the last 5 years although each year they seem to get slightly dearer than I can get the same cover for elsewhere. But, I stayed with them out of a misguided sense of loyalty.

This last year however they were significantly more expensive than Hastings, so I moved to them for £400 a year fully comp.

Interestingly, Admiral were also 50% more expensive than Sheila`s Wheels for the wifes car this year, so we moved her car way from them also.

I used Competition Car Insurance, now part of Footman James, they were cheapest for both 996 & 964 and were prepared to tailor the policy around needs, i.e trackday cover, agreed value, salvage buy back etc etc

Classic line in Tamworth, used them for over 20 years always competitive and nice people to deal with👍

Give A Manning a call. I have been with them for years. Great service and price has come down year on year.

My renewal is coming up, I'm currently with Admiral, multi-car, for the 850R and the 911.

I'm somewhat stuck with Admiral I think - whilst the total bill is £800 half of that is the 850R, which sounds steep given that it's the same price as a 911.

However, a quote from any other insurer (and I've tried them all) is typically around £2,000 for the Volvo, for a 41 year old male, no points, no claims, car is parked on private grounds.

another one for classicline......i also did the agreed value thing for £20 5 photos a bit of info and its valid for two years.......would defo use again

I just renewed with ClassicLine and dealt with Jessica

I woudl reccomend them but have never had to make a claim!!

Massivo agreed policy and i mean massive!!!, every single modification declaired, 7500 miles, euro cover, breakdown cover

All under £1000
