Hi everyone, this is my first post on 911uk. I've been a lurker for a long time on this forum and decided it was a good idea to finally introduce myself and show you all a few photos of my car and some of the changes I've made to it over the years. I always enjoy reading other people's project threads and hopefully someone out there will enjoy reading mine.
Whilst in the grand scheme of things, the changes I've made are fairly subtle when compared to some of the more extreme modified Porsches out there, I'm sure my car and ideas won't be to everyone's tastes. I know there will be a lot of people who will see what I've done as ruining a perfectly good car, but hopefully there might be a few who can appreciate what I've tried to do with the car. I've tried to create my own interpretation of the perfect Porsche, as I can't buy one that I would consider to be perfect, I've started trying to build it instead.
I've always modified and tweaked my cars over the years and I've never been too concerned about the effect those modifications would have on the cars value. To me, the satisfaction and enjoyment I get from personalising my cars and creating the car that I really want far outweighs the satisfaction and enjoyment I'd get from being able to sell the car for more money due to it being in original condition. I don't see cars as a way of making money, more as an expensive hobby. I'm sure a lot of people will think I'm making a mistake by devaluing a car that almost everyone else is trying to keep standard as the values continue to slowly creep upwards.......but anyway, here goes......
I've owned my 996 turbo for about 5 years and still absolutely love it. It's been the best car I've ever owned. The car is a 2003 manual in seal grey with a black interior. When I bought the car it was pretty much standard apart from a few subtle changes made by the previous owner.
I've been reading these kind of threads long enough to know that they are useless without pictures, so here's a few I took several years ago when I first bought the car. I apologise in advance for both the amount of pictures and because they were all taken on my phone, they aren't the best quality.

That was how it looked for a couple of years, until I started spending too much time looking at various forums for some inspiration.....
I hope you guys enjoy the photos.
