993 C4S @ £120k with 59k miles

Compare this with the 57k mile Ocean Blue/Marble C2S at Paul Stephens for £84,995 and the price of the Paragon Car looks mighty over inflated.

Plus the more delightful public transport style vinyl trim

They're faster like that

Agree with Cableguy it's more than a little over egged...

Look at all the attention it's getting though.

Not so daft those Paragon boys

993

About as much attention as the 911 2.0S. For years and years they have been trying to sell that car! It's one thing getting attention on a specialist forum and another getting someone to part with the money!

What you mean by those that currently own a 993 and have no desire to buy :dont know:

They've over-egged it but once a punter slips on those rose tinted specs anything could happen. It might sell, but not at the list price, and never seen again.

If somebody whose not colour blind is looking for perfection surely they'd be better buying the Stephen's car at 84 large and sinking another 20 bags in to bring it to concors level :dont know:

When a prospective buyer asks for a view, other than dropping his load on seeing the price, then I'll believe it.

I love these threads, they are better lubricated by the 'What's the best oil' classics :thumb:

The question which hasn't been asked, at least for a while, is what 'an enthusiast' will pay in today's market for a 993.

Personally I can't see any 993 derivative with much over 30k miles being worth over £100k. But clearly the wider market sees different. How many people want a wide body 993, without collector low miles, enough to trouser £100k plus? Those who this type of performance car really appeals to and who have the means to stump up £100k plus must be few
In number??

As an enthusiast the max I'd pay for a 993/964 is £60k. Just above that you're looking at a 991.1 4S or a 997.2 Turbo or an Audi R8 V10 etc...just couldn't bring myself to go classic aircooled against those kind of cars.

But above £60k its a different market / buyer :bandit:

Most are missing the point with this car, the market is still rising for 993's and there will always be outliers pushing the envelope but thats what helps to stimulate the market / maintain momentum.

I've said it above, exactly the same threads exist over the past 4 years when 4S first hit £50k, £60k, £70k, £80k etc.... :floor:

There are maybe half a dozen 993 4S for sale in a year nowadays ie it only takes a handful of buyers who rightly or wrongly (as its subjective) that think the rare (only GT2, RS and Turbo S models are rarer) WB, NA, Manual, full leather, none rear spoiler, 4WD, Porsche (many are none porsche buyers but Ferrari / Porsche are classic staples nowadays) 4S is worth the money over other cars. The market is now firmly in the realms of those potential buyer already having newer, faster, more expensive, etc, etc, cars in their garage. So they are not comparing buying a 993 C4S against buying a 991 :judge:

It might sell, but not at the list price, and never seen again.

I have heard that Paragon do not discount their cars ........ :dont know:

Smoke and mirror technology will be applied and it'll get shifted through the dealer chain to create illusion it's sold.

If only the previous owner would shout up what price he traded it for.

George :dont know:

I'm completely biased against Paragon anyway- I've been there once and I found it an awful experience. I languished in the sales area for over half an hour before being seen despite having an appointment with a sales guy who possessed no manners or charisma at all.. At some point out of complete boredom I wandered into the service/garage area to see what cars were in only to be curtly told by a mechanic to get out.
I've been to lots of garages such as Dove House where the mechanics are friendly and happy to chat about the cars but at Paragon they just tell you to get out- maybe they thought I'd steal a spanner.
If I hadn't travelled so far to visit I would have told them to F off and left soon after arriving.

£120k

I think £120k is the new base price for WB cars.

engine bay looks like crap, frunk carpet same, other than that not a bad car, way overpriced but another chancer who may get lucky.

I agree Chris. I think the air vents are best kept to the Turbo too plus its not a great colour - only in my opinion mind.

I think black cars look the best and go slightly faster too.
