Not updated for a while; had the car sorn'd for three months during winter, then fitted a new Bosch S4 battery. Also bought a set of Dansk exhaust as the old ones were toasted. This was back in March before Alex's thread  or I would have looked into other brands.
Anyway, last week just came back from a three weeks Europe trip:
Harwich ferry to Hook of Holland (pic removed)
Then drove through Germany and Denmark; fuel stop at a mini Shell in Denmark (pic 1)
Ferry #2 at Hirtshals, Denmark, to Norway (pic removed)
Sightseeing at Heddal Stave Church near Notodden, Norway (pic 2)
After attending friends' wedding, then onto Oslo for a few days (pic removed)
Trainning for Channel 4's 'The Jump' (pic 3)
We bumped into the King and Prince of Norway leaving the Palace
(pic removed)
Electric cars are very popular in Norway; here're a couple of 'Buddies' (pic removed)
Quick service at OPC Oslo (ok not really) (pic 4)
Left Oslo to Trollhattan, Sweden and stopped by the Saab Museum. The collection is fairly small but Trollhattan made a nice lunch stop. (pic 5)
Bumped into this lady; she and her twin sister were models for Saab in the 70s! Here she was holding an origional brochure in which she was at the cover. (pic removed)
Then to Gothenburg for three days including a visit to the Volvo Museum, which has a fantastic collection. (pic 6)
Then back to Denmark with a quick stop at Lund, Sweden (pic 7)
Stopped at Malmo before crossing the Oresund bridge (which cost EUR56) (pic 8)
Then a few days at Copenhagen and day trip to Hillerod and Helsingor
(pic 9)
From Denmark then to Hamburg with a quick service at OPC Hamburg (ok no) (pics removed)
Visited the Automuseum Prototyp (ok) and Miniatur Wunderland (awesome) also. (pics removed)
After leaving Hamburg, visited Kinderdijk after recommendation from fellow 911uk member. (pic 10)
Then finally home after 2458 miles in 21 days (pic removed)
The car performed exceptionally; the only issues were the fuel cap emergency release cable came loose and 'ticking noise' (non engine/gearbox related) after a 160+ mph high speed run in Germany (more below).
After coming back home, had a new set of tyres fitted (Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R) and the car is currently at my mechanic's for its annual service, MOT, new exhausts, brake lines (HEL), pads (Pagid RS5) and bits and bobs.
Being serviced (pic removed)
About the 'ticking noise'; it became noticeable whilst 'coasting' after the high speed runs in Germany. My mechanic traced it to 'loose split-rim bolts'. These GT3 wheels were refurbished in 2013 by previous owner; the car was used very sparingly since then til my ownership. It would seem the refurb was not done to the highest standard as some of the bolts were loose, some threads damaged with a few bolts 'super-glued' back on the the split-rims. Shocking. (pic removed)
New bolts (80 of them) have been ordered and the damaged threads will be 're-sleeved'.
The car should be back at the end of next week, and then it'll be Scotland (NC500-ish) in July.
That's all for now......
