Replacing a Broken Wing Mirror

Hi All

I hit a pigeon at 70mph over the weekend. Pigeon unfortunately dead. My wing mirror was destroyed. Base plate disappeared, mirror shattered, main shell broken (all the mounting points gone). I have managed to get a used one in the right colour - the whole assembly up to and including the black triangle that attached to the outside of the car.

Is there a guide as to how to remove the old one and fit a new one?

I searched, but could not find one.

Thanks

I am sure it is just 3 screws :?

The cable will need disconnecting too.

That's about it as far as I know :mechanic:

That's how most mirrors on a vehicle are removed its so they can hide the fixings under a plastic cover something they never bothered with on the transit
