Hello all,

Looking for some help, I have a 2001 996 turbo with Bose and Nav,
Trying to determine whether I have fibre opticwires going to the amp.

From what I understand some systems run fibre optic to the cd changer and amp and others to just the changer, any idea how I can tell.

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

Amp will have 2 orange fibre optic filaments ("wires") entering the unit in a rectangular quick release plug:

If in any doubt, you can check they are optical due to the lens like terminal:

... although easier would be just to check the PCM versions: PCM 1 (with tape player) is NOT MoST (optical), PCM 2 (with CD player) is MoST

Thanks GT4 very helpful,

My Amp appears to have different style connectors, I've looked for the orange wires but can't see any connector like that going into the amp.

Mine has tape loader and cd changer in the frunk,
I guess it's a PCM1.
