Exactly. I'm waiting with mine at kwickfit on Saturday, don't trust them but for £27...!

"That will be £27 for the MOT, sir, and £1000 for those new tyres that you 'need'" said the nice man at Kwikfit....

well that was an interesting MOT @ KwickFit and £27 well spent. Look at this, the brand new pss10 suspension I had fitted a few months ago by JAZ is missing a screw on the front passenger side! The car failed obvs, pretty dangerous. Zoom in and the nut is cracked, which makes me think something hit it then the screw then worked itself out? Will be very surprised if JAZ missed ever putting it in during installation, but calling them today to discuss

An MOT/quickfit blessing in disguise as that's a biggie 😳

I'd check the torques on the other 3 x remaining as a precaution

yep, feeling very lucky with the timing of the MOT to be honest as the car felt absolutely perfect to drive even pushed hard, would never have known.

Firstly there's no snobbery. There are stories a plenty of small garages taking cars for joyrides and even crashing them. Unlikely but it's happened. There have been people on here ranting about cars being taken out for no reason.

Sadly, not just confined to small garages :nooo:

I know of at least 3 Carrera GTs that a nameless OPC not a million miles from me have crashed over the last few years while "road testing" them. The last one took out 150 metres of Armco :what:

Well that's te exception to the rule. And who repaired them? It's completely their responsibility whilst it's in there.

This is a ridiculous thread. Sorry I said anything.

The last I heard there was only one UK service/repair certified OPC for Carrera GT, so you can probably deduce who crashed them and where they were fixed. However, given that they are appreciating assets and would be subject to significant diminution if crashed : it has to be a point worth making. The pictures of at least a couple of crashed examples near said OPC did hit the internet and one would expect that settlements were involved?

The bottom line is though : take your car to whoever you trust. For some that will be their main dealer, for some it will be an independent specialist and for others it will be a little place in the corner of an industrial park. It isn't snobbery but rather a matter of trust, however that said - am I really the only person who has MOTs done while they wait?

Can't quite believe the MOT snobbery :floor: it's a rudimentary check of your light bulbs.

Loving Porsche's and respecting people's cars is certainly not the exclusive domain of the Porsche dealer network.

:hand: You'll never get in the Illuminati with an attitude like that

I remember the day when you could have the MOT done 'over the phone' :bandit:

There was an old school garage round the corner from me many years ago where the 'chief tester' wore a brown foreman's lab coat. I still remember buying some red Umbro paint from Howarth's Toy Shop to touch up the rear brake light lenses on my 911T after it failed for 'showing white light to the rear'
