Sold the porker and have for sale the remote control homelink button.

Also modified wiring to a gliderol remote control (optional)

Homelink button £25
Gliderol TM-868 Remote control (modified to fit switch) £30

Pictures show the switch, the connection to a wrapped remote control that sits in the head liner and for reference only an unmodified controller(second controller not included)

Bloody good hack that is. Saving the best part of £400. If I had any electronic knowledge I would take this off your hands and connect my remote to the cable.

Thanks Hollow
I've got another brand door opener, I've already looked at the website and their version looks too bulky for the cigarette lighter, also I use it for USB charging.
I like the idea of the OEM look that you have, so I'll cannibalise one of the spares I have and get it sorted.
Thanks for the links

Would you like to buy my switch - a tenner cheaper than the dealer and it's as good as new

Also,
If you have Hormann garage door they new sell a button that sits in the cigar lighter and is the same size as a cigar lighter so looks very neat as an alternative to homelink switch.

I had one of these until I put it through the washing machine but found because it sits low down in the car the range is limited. I also use the cigarette lighter for trickle charging the car and then found it was tricky to remove the remote as you could not grip it as it sits flush (removing the ashtray helps). I agree it is a really nice looking solution but in my case was not that practical. I am now going to look at your hack.
