There can be a risk to the crank when fitting a lwfw without balancing it to the crank, pulley and coverplate as an assembly. There's a few on here running them without an engine strip.
A failed DMFW can also break the crank (has bad balance out of the box due to its design) and replacement should be done if you are of nervous disposition when the clutch wears out.
