OPC Servicing for our 993's.

Very much considering putting my car back into OPC servicing. Have not had any issues with them looking after the Spyder.

I've used a Specialist in Central London for years (964 and now 993) but I can't say I have been all that impressed of late. I think I'd rather pay a bit more and get my car back on the date they originally tell me rather than weeks later, and without the driver's seat carrying the filth from oily overalls. £70 an hour may sound cheaper, but if it takes someone three times as long it isn't!

And I can walk to the OPC :)

Good to see an East London recommendation in this thread. :thumb:

Has anyone used Solihull Porsche for there servicing ?

I haven't for servicing but I have for other work on the 993. I was impressed with cost and diligence to make sure all was good. I'd def reccomend.

Ballcock, is that Dublin OPC?

Perhaps consider Belfast? I'm trying them out with an annual service in a few weeks and hope to fine out more then. Any time I'm in the area I have a look around, and they've always got older stuff in the service yard.

I started a thread a few months ago about this. Got prices from a local garage (none Specialist but owner had 2 912's), Brooklands OPC and Ray at Northway. Local garage came in at more the OPC. Ray came in 20% cheaper but is 50 miles away. I spoke to the OPC and they matched Ray's prices.
Only reason I've not dropped the car off is they don't offer loan car! bastards!

The guys in Belfast are very decent - the Service Manager Paul McConaghy should get a special mention - he's a top guy who even comes along to our PCGB Region Dinner - he definitely has a passion for all things Porsche. I also know the rest of the guys very well.

Our Turbo has a full Porsche History and has been maintained by Porsche Belfast for the last 10 years so they know the car very well therefore it always goes back to them. In terms of my own car I have a great relationship with my local independent (Alan McGookin of AMG Cars in Ballyclare) who I could recommend to anyone so I bring mine to him for work so that to spread the wealth as such - not that either are relying on my business but 'every bit helps' as a certain well known supermarket says!

OPC Wilmslow currently have my car after the rear window shattered so while they have it I asked for a quote to replace the clutch. My indy had already given me a ball park figure and to be honest they were both about the same cost 2k.

 Is that for both? My Indy can supply and fit a clutch for less than £1k

Also did the window smash as a result of using the heated screen? Seems to be common occurrence :what:

Seems to be common occurrence

I reckon that must be the third of fourth one I have heard about while posting on 911uk .........
