That's the thing, they don't. Which is why I got rid of both mine.

When you drive Alfas they do, so I can be tolerant of the Targa (early days in fairness)
:what:

I think that's the thing.
I came from a '89 3.2 targa, to a '79 SC to this 993 targa.
The 993 targa is positively quiet and refined by comparison.

I imagine if you go to a 993 targa from a more modern car then you'd notice the creaky character more :)

Year round practicality too!

ha ha ha brilliant

So there was me thinking I'd get some low light moody monochromes and what do I get?, tree's sticking out of roof and a boot full of plants.. :thumb:

I have to say I love the rear shot of the Targa, big hips coupled with the sloping glass roof, just gorgeous.

Thanks for posting chaps,

JohnB12 love the colour, I think they did a Targa in the same colour on Wheeler Dealers a few years ago.

Sweet rides gents

It is one of the side rails to the roof mechanism. I think it is where it meets the top of the windscreen.
When I had my PPI, I was told they all rust at this point and could see rust bleeding out from behind the rubber door seal, but bought anyway. Tbh i didn't realise it would be as bad as it was, but all sorted now and preserved for the nation-well next generation anyway.

It did concern me a bit when I bought mine, it had had a respray sometime early last year. I had a look under the rubbers and couldn't see anything that looked untoward and the Peter Morgan PPI didn't mention anything so I took the plunge.

I must confess I look at the area everytime that I wash the car. I am unsure how long rust would take to appear again in the unlikely event that it was bodged. ( I say unlikely, given the specialist I bought from though)

Must be nice to know it's all sorted, I bet the bill required a stiff drink afterwards!
