The 'car&classic' or 'is that a yellow Allegro' thread

My first car was an allegro, stunning in red TTU 312R. Low mileage stunner purchased from an old lady owner for 800 English pounds, only 19,000 on the clock.

By 31,000 we were in the garage fitting a reconditioned engine, good job dad was a mechanic :floor: What a pile of sh!te.

Saying that, they were at the vanguard of all these supercars as having a quadrant steering wheel long before Audi etc thought of it!

I see you are like me, a great memory for old number plates.

Yet I struggle to remember my own office direct line.

Yellow 1975 'Aggy' £3650

I recently stumbled across a mint condition Parkers Guide from February 1985 and just had to look this up.

New in 1975 that car would have cost £1,860. By 1985 the trade value was £150. :floor:

Astonishingly that £1,860 in 1975 was the equivalent of £17,500 in todays money.

Wait for it , yes i did call them a few months back - £1m

That is supercool, but I'm not sure it's worth £1m

This is also supercool, but I just don't think I could ever bring myself to fork out £135K on a Fiat.

(and that's the cheapest dino spyder on there).

Final one and a curve ball.

Alex at BHCC has this heap up for $19,750 (£15,800). Add on £2000 to go and see it (if you're a scaredy cat) or to get it road legal and £1000 to bring it back. And I make that a £20k rat look 911.

Do 911'ers do rat look? I would love to turn up to pcgb events in it. 8)
