My old mucker 911tom has kindly lent me his vbox for a bit to log my turbo after its ES tune. Unfortunately I'm waiting for a part for the coolant system on the turbo so decided to do a bit of logging in the boxster.

So the car - 2000 Boxster S. 141k miles. 987 airbox, 987c S plenum and TB, decat. Full tank of fuel, 2 x 15st blokes in it. Full boot of Tesco shopping in the frunk and a set of golf clubs in the back.

All testing done on a private test facility.

I really struggled to get a decent launch, but this was the best one and probably represents its day to day performance.

(I hope this daft website doesn't rotate these pics!)

I haven't had chance to look to see how it compares to other new 'sports cars', but I think you'll agree that its not too shabby, especially as its fully laden to the brim!

:D

You can't knock that! I used to hope that's what my previous car (R32 Golf) was doing 60 in on a good day and I weigh fair bit less than 15 stone.

As does my other half, thankfully ha ha

Yeah its interesting. I've had a couple of encounters with guys in the new Audi S3 who have not been able to gain any ground on my old boxster. When I've mentioned this to friends they've basically told me I'm making it up, but independent tests show that the S3 does the 1/4 mile in 14s (done in an unladen car with a racing driver).

All that technology and 'advancement' and its still no quicker than an old boxster... Makes me chuckle!

The Golf R is quicker though. 30-70 in a claimed 4.7s and 1/4mile in a claimed 13.7.

:dont know:
