What fuel do you use in your Turbo Porsche???

Does anyone put 95 ron in a Turbo? :nooo:

Tesco 99 RON

Read a few posts from knowledgeable types on here and they provided all the evidence I wanted.

+1 (even though I don't have a Turbo yet  )

I have both shell and tesco local to me. Tried v power and 99 momentum from tesco and noticed no difference in mpg only tesco been cheaper. Do you guys recommend tesco fuel?

If I could get over the stupid speed humps they put in at my local Shell garage I too would use V Power.

If there was Tesco 99 available near me I would use that but as there isn't it's Shell V-Power. Is Tesco's SUL all 99 RON these days? I remember some years back noticing while on holiday in the UK that in some parts it was 97 or 98 which was surprising but I guess was a result of which refinery they were using for that local supply.

All Tesco 99 now on the momentum. Used to do both 98 & 99.

My car (997 Turbo) was tuned by 9e using Shell V-Power so I tend to stick with that.

Shell Vpower, not worth the risk of a melt by using lower octane fuel... if I can't get it, £10 of 95 & no revs over 6k/or full boost. Then refill with half a tank of 98, run virtually dry before a full tank of 98 again....

Really don't want to be running a turbo engine with the risk of knock/lean, especially with a fairly well tuned car.

Momentum or V-power. What ever is available at the time. Although two of my regular stations I use are now Gulf. Again, they have high octane fuel which I use. No difference in performance noted.

I don`t have the option of using Shell as there are no Shell stations on the island. Apparently there is a petition by the local `car scene` on it`s way to Shell to ask them to build a station. Can`t see that happening though.
In the meantime I use Tesco or Gulf locally and try toreturn home from mainland trips with a full tank of Shell.

I use Shell V-Power most of the time and occasionally Tesco Momentum.

I've had to use 95 on a couple of occasions when the station was out of SUL, only put a tenner in to keep me going until the next fill up.

And in a mildly tuned Turbo, the difference between 95 and 99 is very noticeable. Even using the odd splash of 97 BP Ultimate makes the car feel lethargic.
