Hello, new member and owner of a 996 C4S Speed Yellow

lurvley and CONGRATS.....Love a yellow car

Speed Yellow one of my favourite colours , welcome to the forum Yas and hope to hear lots more from you and seeing you at some meets in 2017.
have you seen the run to Germany Dinslaken in May. will be a great weekend if your up for giving the yellow peril a good run :thumb:

Saw this car earlier in the year at a Porsche meet. Simply superb looking. Congrats and welcome to the C4S club.

Thanks all, I really do love speed yellow. My personal fav colour on a 911 :)
So happy to own one given the rarity, definitely draws a lot of attention.

@Phil 997, I will definitely be attending the Porsche meets and the Germany road trip sounds perfect, will be up for that :) any more info?

@Demort, really such a great community here at 911uk! Do you recall what work was carried out? Do you work for a Porsche Specialist etc?

Yas , here's the link mate to the dinslaken run, 40 or 50 at least of us are going should be a couple of thousand Porsches there from all over Europe and beyond guys there from Russia last year I saw pics of.
I would suggest booking the tryp hotel on there site direct as they did still have rooms with free cancellation up to 24 hrs before but at least you then have the room there are other hotels close by but this is where most of us are staying. if the dates work for you book the room and add your name to the list joining one of the groups traveling you can do closer where the itineraries start getting discussed.

@Robertb, I have just seen the link!! Thats awesome, has truly made my day!

@segart, thank you, I agree it sure is a lovely looking C4S.
Sure, it had covered 72k miles when I purchased the car (Oct 2016). Its in stunning condition inside and out, needs a couple of age related items changing/fixing. I am down as the 9th owner. However, the first two owners were Porsche, three owners were in the same family and the garage to who the previous owner purchased the car added to the ownership :(

The car spent most of its time in Surrey and mainly serviced by Autostrasse, last service by Precision Porsche and Porsche Torque.
I bought the car from a Porsche Club GB member located in Sussex.

Does anyone know how many Speed Yellow C4S (manual) where produced?

No worries- happy to help out the new owner of my hero car!

It also featured in the Jan 03 Evo Car of the Year- issue 51.

It was narrowly beaten by the Honda NSX-R to come second, but it pipped the Ferrari 575M Fiorano and some other stiff contemporary competition.

It had the fixed back racing bucket seats in those days... does it still have those or hard back (folding) sports seats?

Absolutely stunning, enjoy 8)

Thanks for all the love, truly grateful to own such an awesome C4S :)

Phil, Thanks for the info! I will check my availability.... I mean put in a sick note and clear my diary for the event :p count me in!! Looks like an awesome event and a great way to meet all Porsche owners and enthusiast.

Robert, you keep making my day!! Thats awesome! I just purchased the magazine with my SY C4S on the front cover :) thank you. Can't wait to read the review!! Its my hero car too, so grateful to have been in the position to buy the Porker!

Currently the car has the Hard Back Sport Seats.... I wish it had the 'GT' bucket seats. I guess when the car was sold to its '1st' owner these were swapped out for something more practical. Just checked my Vehicle ID and XSE & XSF (Bucket seat L&R) are shown on the stamp. Time to get me a set of Original bucket seats :)

If you want to get hold of a hard copy of the other Evo that I posted the link for earlier its issue 49, Nov '02.

I wonder if the car featured in any other mags at the time...

Good luck getting some buckets- you may lose your enthusiasm when you see the price!

welcome, very nice and looks like you own an already famous car, i also noticed the seats were different but if you are doing some long trips you might find the hardbacks more suitable and still sporty enough ?
Not sure what it is about SYellow but it seems to make the car look moderner to me ? :?:

Thanks Rob, I just ordered both EVO magazines
Awesome to see how famous my car is. Yes, I do wonder where else it could have been featured :D

I will research into this and have a word with the Porsche Dealership regarding the seat change. I know, they are not cheap and not as practical but this was the factory spec... I want to preserve the originality. It must be the only C4S in Speed Yellow with GT bucket seats in the world :)

Where can you purchase an original set? Would it be difficult to sell my hard back sport seats (in A1 condition) - what will they sell for?

@seeforez, thanks. I certainly do own a very famous car :) 100% Speed Yellow transforms the appearance. Suits the 996 C4s body so well. Amazing colour, as previously mentioned.. my personal fav
