In praise of the looks of the 991

I was being optimistic!

A 50 Jahre is probably a pipe dream (due to rarity and associated premium)

Whereas if it is genuinely the stance/proportions that are wanted (even add the wheels and a matt wrap), then I present the 991 C4/C4S and of course all the beautiful GTS variants (2WD or AWD) to be fettled from their already wide-body 95% approximation to a 50 Jahre.

I fell in love with the 991 the moment I saw one and for me the 911-50 is 'the daddy' in the looks department.

When I saw a 911-50 for the first time (Stuttgart - June 2013) I was sorely tempted to put an order in.

I would have gone for the geyser 'grey' rather than the one pictured above.

Surprisingly it took quite along time for all 1963 to sell but sadly now they are already fetching a premium so that dream is over.

To my eye the proportions of the 991, especially with the wide body, are just about perfect. I definitely know what my next 911 will be. When the 'cost to change' is right I'll be in a 991.1 C4S.

Elee, I liked your post.

The 993 is a great version of the 911. I love a lot of the models but probably stop at the 993 the 996, 997 and 991 are too modern.

Agree with that, although the 50th 991 is a beautifully proportioned and designed car to my eye.

The C4S variant is even more cool, or perhaps I mean hot!

Oi, careful with that pitchfork!

All 911's are beautiful in the world of cars but most have their flaws. The 991 however I find hard to fault. It seems to have taken he best of everything, refined it somehow and resolved the silhouette once and for all, and from all angles.

Not sure if the 991 looks good with Fuch's though??

They are not Fuchs though (well, not the ones that I have on my 911-50th

The lights across the entire rear look awful to my eyes but I really like the look of the 991's....until I see one in the flesh and they still look too big..

I agree the 911-50 is pretty but should have been fitted with the power kit and all 991's would be better if 10% smaller.

I love the shape of the 991.1 GTS 2WD... In agate great .... When the time is right ...ill be into one of these ( unless I get a slot for a 911 R type model .....

I was waiting to pick my daughter up from a birthday party in a pretty run down part of the wirral two weeks ago. From nowhere a 911-50 parked in front of me. It was obviously in regular use and full of salt. The guy that got out was 80 at least ........... the car looked gorgeous :worship:
