The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 was launched in 2011 and was the final development of the track-inspired series of 997 GT3 RS models. Only 600 examples were made and it was the last hurrah for the motorsport-derived Mezger flat-six that was bored out from 3.8 to 4.0 litres, the largest displacement 911 engine ever. The normally aspirated power plant was crucially mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and achieved 494bhp at 8,250rpm. The 4.0 RS is considered by many to be one of the greatest drivers' cars of all time and according to EVO Magazine when the car was released: "It is the ultimate 911, and you could easily argue it's all the car you'll ever need. It will become an icon."

Ordered new from Porsche Stuttgart, this car was exported and delivered to Japan where it resided with its enthusiast owner until earlier this year. It's finished in Carrera White with contrasting Carrera GT Silver wheels and is trimmed in Black leather and Black Alcantara, complimenting the exterior perfectly and resulting in a stunning and eminently desirable 911.

Having covered an indicated 27,000 miles, this RS has been regularly enjoyed and well-maintained annually with the service record showing four stamps. Presented with its book pack and import/NOVA documents the car is now ready to be registered, enjoyed and continue to be cared for.

This car is a must have for the Porsche collector/enthusiast. The 4.0 holds a true place in Porsche history, not only is it the last of the Mezger engined Porsches, the RS 4.0 is the only limited edition where each car is numbered, and the 4.0 RS will probably be the last manual "RS" variant to roll out of the Porsche factory.

This dazzling white GT3 RS 4.0 Limited Edition (472/600) is in superb condition and awaits your inspection.

Thats the first reasonable buy I've seen in ages. Still overpriced compared to say a RHD 458 but not bad at all considering limited supply and how shyte the 991 GT3 is from a reliability and arguably lack of interaction perspective .

Well, they say timing is everything and that vendor missed the boat by 100 grand.....

It sold for £208k. I think thats about right for a left hooker jap import on 27k. Dont know why the owner would have brought it here to sell though, crap Ex rate at tha mo...

It'll be up at JZM next week for 250..

Not really - it is a Left Hook Japanese spec with much higher than typical mileage and an aftermarket head unit. Despite there always being cars on the market with fantasy land price tags, lower mileage European LHD cars are currently available in the £250-280k range and pretty much always have been. It is the UK RHD ones and ones with essentially collector mileage that genuinely command silly numbers.

£208k is a keen price for a 4 litre, but for what it is : I am not so sure that it is really below what market rate ought to be for that one. They have certainly changed hands for less...

I see lot 263- the 930 turbo sold for 171 grand....that's going some....

Whenever I read a 997 GT3 RS 4.0 thread...specifically the 'look what that
one went for threads ' i always think about Chris Harris letting his RHD go
after a short period of ownership......ouch.
Seen many out on track...but never had a pax lap in one, let alone had a go at
peddling one.... :nooo:

Is the price listed as sold, the hammer price or does it include all commissions and fees.
If it's the hammer price and there is a 10% or 20% fee on top of this, it makes it a less cunning buy due to the high milage of the above car.
If it's the all in price....well bought considering where values are currently.

£185k on the hammer, but the auction site lists the purchase price (once all the fees are loaded on) at a bit over £208k. So a nice price for a 4 litre in general, but being a (for a 4 litre) very high mileage car from Japan which is not completely OE - not something of interest to collectors thus not misplaced IMHO. Basically - a car for someone who is buying to drive, and that has to be a good thing. :thumb:

There is a Pioneer head unit where you would normally expect a PCM console (or the stereo delete shelf), so either it is missing a few grands worth of PCM/phone/etc hardware or someone has also installed an amp, speakers and so on.
