Elbow grease going to waste?

Phil, have you paid for this stuff? Do you want us to contribute? Happy to do so bud.

No Mate, genuinely sent as a trial pack by Jay at Bouncers for us to use and review on here, didn't even have to pay the postage .
As I say 10 out of 10 for their customer service and support even before trying the products . :thumb:

What's the drop and roll? Like gtec c5?

I'm thinking I'm going to do a test:
After a full decontam process, wipe bonnet a few times with alchohol to ensure any product is removed
Apply a coat of Blackfire Gloss enhancing polish
Use masking tape to divide bonnet into 3 equal areas
Apply check the fleck, black ice and midnight sun to each respective area.
See which one gives the best results.

It will be an interesting test to see how check the fleck compares against the others. I suspect it will do a very good job, but being a regular wax will only be good for a month, but let's see.

I could do a fourth potentially and put supernatural hybrid in the mix as well as there's a lot to be said for the longevity of hybrid waxes, with the winter coming up...

Your thoughts please boys?

Great plan Id say as its the proper way to test any product.

I plan to do a 50/50 on the bonnet for comparison with a pot of unused Forth summer wax which the wax pack group rave about.

I'll strip back the bonnet clay and run the machine over it with a very light cutting polish so I have a nice blank canvas.

If I had a glaze I'd split it into 4 but I don't so 50/50 it is.

Apart from the overall finish ease of application and removal are equally as important as some waxes can be hard work, I'm all for a wax on wax off approach

Longevity isn't an issue for me as the car is covered and garaged and I don't mind applying a coat of wax every now and again.
I also find Adams quick detailer is surperb if you want to lift the car a little inbetween waxes.

You guys are are working with different colours to me and dark paints although hard work are very rewarding unlike silver or white even.

going to be interesting to see the results on different colours.

Well much as my valleters like me if I asked them to split the bonnet and use 2 products I can see some expletives getting exchanged ,so I will leave that part to you two. I will apply the check the fleck to the whole car not bothered about longevity as I use blackfire wet diamond polymer spray every week after washing. and get it rewaxed with black magic detail, sirus dark edition show wax, every couple of months as recommended by BMD which it needs as it lives outside.
I am interested to see what the glass products do as my guys had treated the windscreen with something that made the water just bead and run off so I guess a similar product but it will be good for caparison. I agree it will be interesting to see the results on dark and light cars. :thumb:

The amount that you must spend with them, I would have thought they'd be happy to oblige. :)

But I'm happy to put in your shift :p

Wow Red, for me that's the perfect Porsche colour.

I had a red Lotus Elise a few years back and found Harlys wax was brilliant on it.

That's for another day though, as Phil said keep us posted :thumb:

Ssshhh! It's a secret...and it may come to nothing.

Anyway, I'm lead to believe that good old blackfire Afpp with midnight sun over the top remains difficult to beat. They call it 'wet ice over fire' or something cheesy like that.

The names these wax companies come up with make me laugh most seem to have been taken from the porn industry :thumb:  blackfire midnight sun is the one for lighter colours isn't it. :thumb:

shame thought "poorboys red hole" was a very marketable product name
lets hope the never look for a product name for a wax just for the Metallic Macadamia Porsches :floor: :floor: :floor: :hand:

Midnight sun is for any colour. It's carnauba wax with polymers, so a hybrid in reality. Black ice is the one specifically for black cars. Interestingly, I've recently read that it shouldn't be applied over any other sealants or waxes, which may explain why I wasn't overly impressed last time. Hopefully it will perform better in the test, now I know how it needs to be applied.
