can anyone tel me, do the cayman suffer the same bore scoring and IMS issues as the 997 ?

also has anyone ever heard of issues reappearing after liners have been fitted ?
I only ask this as I understood the liners were the end of that issue but iv not seen anyone offering any more than a 12 month warranty !!

Hi,

The 3.4 Gen 1 (2005-2008) do suffer from bore score and IMS.

Either go for any Gen 2 engine (2009+) or a 2.7 Gen 1

Great cars

Some do, some don't. For peace of mind do as Daniel says and
go for Gen2 or 2.7. A 12 month warranty is just a standard guarantee for the parts.
I doubt anyone would guarantee an engine part for longer
and you would have to show mechanical failure to make a claim.
