We all know what a rare and wonderful car the Porsche 918 Spyder is, with only 918 of the hybrid rocket ships ever made. Well, now it would appear that at least one of those is no longer in working order, as the car you see here is certainly going to need some serious work to get back on the road.

Spyder No. 830 is currently being sold via a Copart salvage auction out of Long Island, New York. And as you can see in the photos below, the poor car has seen much better days. Perhaps the saddest part of this story though is the fact that its odometer never even notched three figures, as its stuck on 92.

Alas, that doesn't mean No. 830 can't make an incredible comeback, given the proper amount of expert care. But that could add up, considering Copart estimates the repairs and parts could cost as much as $600,000 USD. Plus you've still got to purchase the wrecked car at auction, which likely won't come cheap, even though Motor Authority reports that the current bid is 'only" $75,500.

Of course, Spyder's don't ever come cheap. And they're awfully hard to come by. So perhaps, if you've got the right team, this is the opportunity of a lifetime. Please, if you've got the means, do us all a favor, and save No. 830.

:nurse: ouch! I like the rear wheel cocking it's leg
