Brought a 986 Boxster for my daughter last summer and it had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel fitted by a non Porsche Specialist @42k miles in May and I took the car to my local indie SCS Honiton for a once over and the car got a clean bill of health apart form an already know fault with the A/C condensers the only other was a slight issue with the clutch .SCS said that the clutch works fine and cant make slip or judder but just not right .My brother also owns a small garage remarked that when he put it on ramp he thought that it smelt a bit of burnt clutchl but put it down to the clutch and flywheel both being only a few miles old ,so I phoned the garage who had fitted the clutch and flywheel and said that two garages had past comment that the clutch smelt and had a strange biting point ,I got the standard well if your not happy bring at back and we will look at it ,so I asked how do I get The 90 odd miles home sorry cant help you with that and said if its not slipping or gone not much that could be done !!!.
Fast forward 7 months the clutch has gone last night :x she live in Horley and forgotten to renew her AA cover I told to ring 9e a they have a great reputation ,she left a message last night on the answer phone ,Ken rang her at 8.30am will recover the car today Top Service Ken and his team
