Having done a few road rallies as navigator and also been a pssenger in a Boxster, I can honestly say a Boxster would be quite awful. As a nav you want good visibility to the front and sides and space for a few things like torch, map board etc. It might sound like a few small items but you dont want them rolling around hte footwell and from memory, the boxster seating position is fairly low and strtetched out which would make trying to read signs at night, in the dark, using only a torch, on narrow country lanes pretty much impossible. if you then have to get your Don Barrow Romer out to do some plotting on the fly....

Power is irrelevant really, if its a proper 12 car you will be subject to timing controls. You would be better looking for a 106 GTI or a Clio 172/182. Something fast and nippy, small, upright position, a little more ground clearance and a little more roomy for maps etc...

:eh!:

Plus the Audi engines bolt straight up to the Porsche transaxle.

Identical bellhousing bolt pattern?

Hybrid clutch?

Spigot bearing size the same?

Input spline identical?

Not being funny, just interested how mix and match this actually is.

Why've you put a hardtop on? I'd just take the existing one off completely and go alfresco for what you're using it for :dont know: :?:

Ah ok, shame cos it would be good fun topless (like most things in life  )

Yeah course I do, but if you're gonna have all your windows pooped out, may as well go the whole hog and take the top off. Much more of an adrenalin rush.

Good engine, they are well built. Was it an S or RS engine? There's someone on audisrs forum that is building a road going boxster with an S4 engine but going single turbo set up.

If you need any help with the engine regrads tuning that's a very good forum to ask any questions. Also MRC tuning are the main folk for mapping etc.

Do you have a limit on power allowed in the class?

Hi.

Its going factory turbo set up for now, with a DTA S80 ECU.

Theres no power limit in the class, I will probably build another engine during the year. This one is straight of of the donor car.

The donor was an allroad.

If you can then RS4 heads flow a lot more. With std 2.7 heads but with Ko4 turbos your probably looking at just under 500bhp. Depends if you want more power but bigger DP's and RS6 turbo's 600bhp is reasonably achievable.
