Who do you currently use for insurance and how much? Feb 16

I went with AIB. Sure I could have got cheaper but agreed valuation, business cover, any car, any driver etc made it worthwhile.

Premium jumped up this year as a result of increase in agreed value.

Almost in the red section of High risk and paying £730 through classic line.

I am 39, green part of that post code risk calculator website. (Below medium risk).

9 year old 997 C2S parked on driveway overnight, social domestic and commuting on 5000 miles a year.

eSure were happy to insure my 997 alongside my BMW X3 (12 years NCB) as part of a multicar policy if I brought over the BMW. The 997 "adopts" the NCB from the BMW. So, the BMW X3 (2007 3.0D model) is now £300 and the 997 is £320 including legal protection and NCB protection.

Had to post in proof of NCB and eSure just confirmed by email and text that they received them.

eSure require at least 5 years NCB to entertain a policy on a Porsche.

I promptly cancelled my existing BMW policy and went over to eSure.

Here's a Post Code Risk Calculator which may give you a rough idea what to expect: http://www.visitcars.co.uk/car-insurance/insurance-post-code-risk.html

C.

That site is faulty, I live in Liverpool and am only medium risk area :nooo:

I pay c£350 on 3000 miles pa with classic line. The price jumps up when the value is declared over 50k. It does have full ncb on it as my other cars are on a company policy. Tip: if you want to get your premium down supply them with a Zingari valuation :dont know:

I have an Admiral Multi car policy and the 993 is under a classic policy, agreed value of £50k I pay about £150 per year - 4k miles, Age 35

All 5 of my cars are insured for £80 per month. I have literally just gone with them, and had to send in photos and details for the agreed valuations of 3 of my cars (The older ones)

What they quoted for all 5 I was originally paying for my Merc, I had them check and double check everything was ok which it was.

Insurance

Classicline

£299 annual premium, Guaranteed Valuation £75k, 1998 C4S, 3000 miles.

Was on a normal policy with Aviva previously, would worry about the car being on a general Insurance policy due to the value of our cars.

Classicline
3k miles pa max
UK Breakdown
Garaged - South West Herts
Agreed value £62,500
Excess £250

Premium £365

Admiral quote went down by near £350 after the following changes..so you have to play around with the quote..

Declaring of 4000 miles a year was more expensive then declaring 8000 miles a year..

Keeping the car in the garage was allot more expensive then keeping it on the drive, however residential parking was the cheapest... i dont have a garage, but could keep the car in either of the other 2 places...I questioned this, and they said this changes yearly..depending on claims in the area etc..

+ there were other things you can change online to get the quote down..

Admiral really sucked when it came to claiming time from a 3rd party that was also insured with Admiral!

I moved to Aplan..

Just renewed.....
My premium with the Merekat's went up from £200 to £260 - which was OK, but each company I called were extremely vague when they were asked to define 'Market Value' :nooo:

Eventually I went with Classic-Line
5K miles P/A max.
UK Breakdown
Euro cover
Excess £250
Agreed value (£££)
Reasonable post-code
52 year old
Full no-claims

Premium £365 - well worth the extra £100

Aptly timed thread this - Insurance due for renewal next week.

Best quote so far is from Footmanjames quoting £250 PA, 6000 miles, social domestic use and a value of £35000. I'm in a average risk postcode.

Used the Zingari market value scale so probably pitched a bit low, in saying that if I sold it for £35000 I'd be happy enough and would have had three years depreciation free motoring.....

A nice little feature with AIB/Hiscox was you can choose to opt for zero excess in lieu of a courtesy car, makes sense when you're not insuring a daily driver.

That's impressive, didn't know they did a classic policy although I guess the car has to be of a certain age? surely you're not getting breakdown cover as well for that money?

Yes 20 years old and they class it as classic and mines a late 1995 Breakdown cover I get through my bank so it was not required. My postcode is at the lower end of the risk scale as well which must help.

I have my 997 and 2 x 944's with Locktons through PCGB, excellent policy including euro breakdown and recovery, choice of repairers, salvage rights.
All agreed value and around 3k mileage per annum each car, garaged overnight.
I have not checked but I would hazard a good guess at being in a low risk area, 54 years old, myself only driving.
Full no claims on my daily driver taken into consideration, all for around £630 pa.
This is a classic policy covering social domestic and pleasure.

Yes, a lovely Nissan/Suzuki/Toyatery thing  Also got "no problem" to an exhaust mod that's going on, only time it didn't happen was trackday cover, but others include it, I think Classicline do.

Give Ness a :bye: tomorrow. Open heart surgery time to sort a leak from the front crank seal and the front gear box seal. Oh and coffin arms all round plus the rest of her major service. :nooo:

Is that value based on two cars :dont know:

On a classic Insurance policy with no NCB attributable BUT you have Insurance on another (main) car most policies should be c£300-£400 mark with a specialist insurer.

A few years back I did a confused.com on the 964 stating I had no NCB since this was on my main car and it even came out similar figures to a specialist policy - but you get more with the specialist - Eurocover, track days etc.

I'm with ClassicLine :thumb:
