Yellow GT3 Test Drive

GT3

No, I haven't driven it. I saw the red car in the summer - looked fab! Did you see any GT4's whilst you were there? The GT3 is too rich for me sadly, but I'm sure Matthew will do his best for you.....

No GT4s at Belfast OPC.

Think they've sold a few and have one or two more on order. The negative is that a full speced car at £75K list will sell for £100-110K second-hand. Not sure if they've already passed on any second-hand GT4s at this value, but am informed that this is the going rate. :nooo:

Starts to make the GT3 seem not so badly priced.

DRZ911 - so what did you decide?
To walk-away or to part with your car and £57k to buy the GT3?

Unfortunately, after many sage words/comments, I'm still here .......

So you used to be indecisive, but now you're not so sure?

Well you have a nice car currently. Yes the test drive was impressive.
But:
- is the GT3 your thing right now?
- The colour? Parked in Tesco?
- No roll cage or Club Sport Spec - will that detract from future desirability?
- Maybe you're being into drawn into the frenzy in anything GT?
- But then again there is an abundance of 'em for sale?
- Why? maybe people wanting to cash in?
- Are you entering a market when it is high already? High risk investment?
- Will prices rise like they seem to have done?

But then you wake up and start all over again? Should I, shouldn't I?

Possibly, but will probably only know for sure when it is sitting in the garage. :what:

If it was white, would feel more certain. Think the yellow shouts out "look at me!!" and for me personally, this is not the attention that I want from other road users or when parked up.

The argument from the dealer was that anyone who does serious track work goes for steel discs anyway, and for ordinary road driving ceramics never really get hot enough to be fully efficient. I laughed out loud at these points, because it is so easy to give a counter-argument. So if you take the dealer's argument verbatim, then you would wonder who would ever specify ceramics in the first place! In terms of the roll cage, the dealer says that the roll cage makes the car even stiffer and will transmit more harshness/vibration on normal roads. From my own perspective, lack of ceramics and a roll cage is not a deal breaker.

Probably, a lot of truth in this.

Have no knowledge/experience on the above 4 points, and I guess this is where the root of my hesitation lies. :damn:
