Not so hasty Zingers.

It all really hinges on the level, frequency and duration of the retainer the plate is on (particularly in view of the extended low interest rate regime we are looking at for, at the very least, medium term).

By a simple discounted cash flow it would be easy to calculate a net present value that could make the initial outlay of £800 a mere bagatelle.

Its worth a couple of bags if it wasnt on a retainer. Can we see a picture of just the number please?

Ask a couple of reg transfer companies as if you are looking to sell.
Take the middle of the price spread and double it.

That will give you a ball park value. Everyone else's contribution est tres grand speculation.

Safe to say your max price is £999

Dvla still have plenty and that includes the fee

Dont know what that pricing formula is based on - Vietnamese dong perhaps :dont know:

Trading sites mark ups are HUGE with their offers at something ~30% what they advertise for sale for. eBay is a uesful tracker for prices and whilst there is a load of shoite on there K1AEN (perhaps for the Cayenne owner  ) even as a "1" VRM was up @£450 or offers. I think it went for c£300 which was worth a punt but I was too late :nooo:

Matching the right reg to the person that wants it is the hardest bit, thereafter it becomes a negotiation as to how much the buyer is willing to pay. Hence I suppose DVLA has a captive audience IF the number is available

Apologies .. ...fuzzy post Xmas head

Must read whole thread . The OP pointed out DVLA had similar at £999

Not trying to sabotage his sale :thumb:

Of course a doctor born on 17th would pay more than 999

Good Luck with sale
