Right oh chaps,
So an update on the wheels. As you know wheels on The Red Baron will be the death of me, i'm sure of that!
As Ade has been off work due to an operation he ordered the paint in pre-mixed to make life a bit easier. As usual this did not happen.
I took one look at the paint and could tell that it was nothing like the Chrysler colour I wanted. We ended up mixing our own.
The colour on the mixing blade is what it should be. In the pot is what they supplied! I just can't cut a break here
Anyway, that little problem sorted. I thought i'd bring the wheels home to assemble and take a few beauty shots for posterity....
They really are big when you see them like this
Next job was to etch prime the ali washers and get a few coats of Fiat racing red on them with a nice finishing lacquer coat.
New Christmas Tree Decorations!
Next was the new valves.
So there we have it so far. I shall be cutting some decals at work to fit around the circumference of the center lock, just to break up all that lovely gold!
The next issue will be tyres. This is going to be a bit of a sticky wicket as I have some part worn Continental Contact 2's, but can't bring myself to put old tyres on such lovely rims.
I guess Joe is the man to chime in here with make, size and pressures to run with!
But joking aside if anyone wants to chime in with some makes and sizes?????
I'm thinking 215's & 255 or 265's.......any thoughts chaps?
Anyway I shall look forward to your replies.
Peace out,
The Red Baron
