In order to counter all this 993 rising value smugness :D , my 2002 996 C4S was bought from a dealer in Feb 13 with 40k miles for £20,000. Now at 60 k miles, it's still worth at least that, and at a dealer it'd be up at £24 - £25k.
Any way, back to the 993's  :thumb: :worship: Can we have an estimate of the current prices for these, as they have really gone nuts recently. Has the rise in value (only if you sell ,mind) stopped any one from enjoying their car?

A 996, heavens forbid :hand: seriously, that's excellent :thumb:

NB £25k-£30K
WB £30K-£36.5K

(top whack in my book) :thumb:

Is that a genuine question :dont know: As I'm sure once someone pops out of their car-coon and after the dust has settled from the 'inital' enthusiasm for the Germany roadtrip they'll be able to answer that

Interesting trends. Some similar mileage and spec cars (based on what's up there) allows some comparisons.

1) The 96 C2 allows a comparison and has gone from £19.5k for a tip in 2013 to £42k for a manual in 2015. Over double in 2 years?
2) The 95 C2 manual has one from £26k in 2011, to £40k in 2015. £14k in four years

Now condition etc etc etc may make those comparisons moot. But whether 54% or 115% that's one helluva jump in a short time. Now that is either a massive 'correction' or..............

For those late entrants I hope it's the former........

More interesting would be to add a 'total spend' column to the data. I think that might tell a different story for some....

..... yup we could really make one helluva BIG spread sheet ...... :floor:

Then our Terry could make some kind of sense of it all ...... or not as the case may be ....... :)

Indeed, but there are still only 20 cars on this list to base this on.

So the 19.5k C2 'Tip is mine, and I don't mind sharing more details.
It was at 21k, but we haggled. It's not to everyone's taste - it's a 'Tip, it has the wrong wheels (but I like them), the 'A' post needs doing, the paint is - well, 17 years old. But everything else is good, and it's a daily driver.
There weren't a lot around at the time, and a lot were more expensive - but I was on a budget.
So, to me it was a 20k car then, and it's still a 20k car now - so I can just drive it and enjoy it knowing that it's depreciation free motoring.
Oh - and I did keep a spreadsheet..... I've put £1200 into it since I got out (not including servicing and consumables).

However, it is in having paint now

Nice summary and (I've highlighted it) I agree with you that this is very unreliable as a survey.

But if it flushes out cracking tails of ownership like your's it's done some good.

I'm still smiling at the word 'daily' :thumb: :worship: [/b]

Hey I'm a 993 owner :dont know:

Ps I only came back on this thread to see the bubble burst

I really don't get this, although I suppose the clue was in the 'vulgar' title of the thread. We all know (with the exception of the Blessed Zingari) that prices have doubled over a short period. So, what is this thread for?- a smug willy waving exercise? It's a shame if these beautiful cars are just condensed down to a price movement .

A personal view and I guess I'm ready for the onslaught...I'll just go take my 'enthusiast's' spanners and retreat back into my dark garage....
