911 Electric windows???

Can anybody help me with this??
I have a 1984 911. The drivers door electric window will only open when the door is open?
The passenger electric window will not work from either switch. Got power to all switches and motors all working.
Im thinking bad earth somewhere?

Would appreciate any help.
 
there is quite a bit, but thankfully it usually is a simple job to fix

swicthes or relays could need replacing
but the motors or wiring could have had enough

door cards are simple enough to take off to have a closer look
 
Check the section of wiring going through the door that bends as the door is opened, there's likely to be a problem there.
