If your asking whether the 996 mk 2 GT3 is wide bodied, then No it's not.

It's based on a C4 chassis so narrow body, only slender hips on the 996GT3, it's def not a fat bottomed girl...

315s are for the 996GT2. This has wider rims than the GT3, which is narrow bodied with an ET63 rear offset and 11j rims to fit a 295 tyre. The GT2 has 12j ET45 wheels to wear 315s. (Note - the Turbo is also on the narrower 11j rears, albeit with the same offsets as the GT2. While you can probably squeeze them onto narrower wheels, only the GT2 is designed for the 315, which is why there is - shall we say - a shortage of choices in the size).

Narrow bodied : all 996 GT3, non-RS 997 GT3
Wide bodies : 996 GT2, 997 GT2, 997 GT3RS, 991 GT3
Even wider bodied : 991 GT3RS

Interestingly the 997 gt3 runs 305 on a 12" rim. I don't think it's a bad idea to get as much width on there as you can/like. Just be conscious of the effect it may have on the front and subsequent balance. Having a play is all part of the fun!

Cheers Colin. Will stick to the 295/30/18 as cups seem to be dirt cheap at the moment on tyre leader.
