Just having a mooch around my '69 911 and found this engine number 6520299 and it's not a match with the one on the log book so I'm wondering if anybody here can tell me (A) have I read it right?! and (B) what capacity is it? It may be a misread as it was dark. Ta in advance.

Youre asking the wrong guys.There are very few on here who know anything about 911 engines.Go to rennlist,long hood.You'll get all the help you need :thumb:

Engine no 6520299 means:
6 = Engine designation, 6-cylinder unit.
5 = Engine type is TV which I think means Zenith carbureted 911T
2 = Model year 1972.
0299 = Sequential Number.

If it's a 1972 model it should be 2.4 litres (2341cc to be precise). 130 bhp @ 5600 rpm and 196 NM @ 4000 rpm.
