Hi everyone
I've been on here as a general browser for a while. But yesterday I took a massive leap into Porsche ownership and bought a July 2014 GT3 with 95 miles on the clock. I've been waiting for a personal injury claim to pay out after a Volvo driver nearly killed me after knocking me of my beloved Ducati 1098S. I lost an arm and my legs where pretty smashed. Four years on and I'm doing good and last Tuesday the Insurance finally coughed up quite a large chunk of change so I waisted no time at all. Originally the plan was to order a new Carreras 4 GTS but when I specced it up and realised how much it was I checked out gt3 prices. Lucky for me Top 555 @ Rutland took one in on Friday morning. So Saturday I drove out there and as soon as I clapped eyes on it I knew I had to have it. It's the cleanest car I've ever seen. It still had the steering wheel and seat covers from the factory with it. The original owner saved every piece of paper and sticker off the car and filled them with all the cars documents. My only issue at the moment is I'm in the process of moving house. Where I am at the moment has a single garage that's full of junk so that's out of the question. So the car will have to stay on the drive. When I move in the new year it won't be a problem. Question is do I collect it now or wait. I'm also new to Porsche, or any super car for that matter so and advice or tips would be greatly received.
That's it for now. Can't wait to get in it and put some miles it. I haven't stopped grinning since I paid the deposit yesterday.

Thanks.
Dean.

Ps big thank you to Charles at Top 555 for looking after me yesterday. Top service, nice showroom and simply awesome stock of cars.

Brilliant

What a car you have purchased for yourself , quite an entry into the world of Porsche . Congratulations and enjoy, pictures please.

looking forward to seeing the pictures as well

great start to your Porsche career

Hi Giby - welcome to 911uk! That's quite a horrific experience you've endured and subsequently lived to tell the tale. In spite of your injuries, you've gotten yourself a very nice car. I would also get some driver expert tuition lessons thrown in also as these might be helpful considering your disability. Most of us have been on one at some point and they greatly enhance the experience of driving these magnificent cars.

Thanks for the replies guys. Driver tuition is something I've thought of. My original idea was to get a silverstone freebie from an OPC but as the car came from a specialist I look like sticking my hands in my pocket. But it is something I'm looking forward to. I still can't believe I've managed to get a GT3.

:welcome: to 911 ownership.

Enjoy :thumb:

Glad you survived and got some sort of payout......

ENJOY to the max, what a car!!!! I can vouch for driver tuition and a track day or two

Just don't loose your licence, they are so rapid

I wanna see piccies though

Oh and as the car is on the drive, you can wash and detail it after every down poor and admire the curves!!!!

CONGRATS
