Cayenne Air Suspension Help

Hi All,
I have a 53 plate Cayenne Turbo with Air suspension.

I have read that as the car ages it is a common problem for the compressor to fail.

I have for sometime now been getting the air suspension warning message flash up followed by the PSM warning but have still been driving the car as i'm not in the habit of throwing it around!

Porsche garages or specialist garages have said they would replace compressor but I have seen that these compressors are easy to repair (just 4 cross head screws to open up) and you can get new piston rings for 20 odd quid that will outlast the compressor!

I therefore want to try do this myself.

However, as a novice, this brings a few questions...

1. Is the air suspension mechanical or electrical?
2. Where is the compressor located and is it easy to get to and remove or would I need a garage with a ramp etc..
I've heard it's either under passenger seat or possibly under rear seats?
3. Any thing else I should be concerned or look out for? I am assuming checking air lines I guess for damage too?

All help appreciated and if anyone has a diagram even better :)

Thanks in advance

Ok so I have done a little bit of my own research now...

Will look at weekend and see if I can locate,

I am told that;
1. It is electric and mechanical
2. It is located roughly underneath the passenger seat and can be accessed from underneath by removing the plastic protection panel
3. I can be done without a ramp and you can drop the compressor down and repair with connections still in place (don't necessarily have to remove it) - Just has 4 bolts on top of compressor

I have been told will need to have codes cleared after work done and best to do a suspension calibration too afterward (Still checking if this is a 'user manual' based set of instructions or if needs to be done another way)

It can't be that difficult. It's only a pump. Just make sure it's the pump at fault before you take it apart or swap it. What about a used one? I try to fix everything on my cars and usually succeed !
