On the PCCM+ threads there's some discussion about fitting a wireless charging pad in the Center hubby hole, does anyone have a recommendation for a suitable charging pad?

I've done similar:

This is the coil I used from eBay, along with the micro USB adapter to power it:

Used an Anker charging pad in my 997. They generally make decent quality electronics.

I have an Apple MagSafe charger plugged into the USB port in the glovebox using a usb to usb-c adapter. Works well and no issue with size of phone.

I have PCCM+, my phone charges when you plug in the USB-C cable to use it so why do you need an additional charging system? :dont know:

Thanks, I've ordered a couple to try.

There's a few reasons - on the pccm+ thread the posts talked about using a wireless CarPlay adapter and a charging mat, so rather than having to plug the phone in everytime you get in, you just click connect to CarPlay and drop it in the cubby where it charges. Also, sometimes I have a passenger in the car who also wants to charge their phone, and quite often I just listen to the radio and don't bother to plug the CarPlay in.

Just found this thread. I’ve recently done this in my 996 (also for wireless CarPlay with PCCM+) and couldn’t be happier with it. I made a custom cubby replacement (that I worked really hard to make look as OEM as possible 😅 … lots of iterations) that holds an Apple MagSafe puck so provides magnetic snapping for my iPhone (but should also work with Android phones) and provides 15W fast inductive charging. Game changer.

I run my phone with a Magsafe case. I bought the Rennclassic phone mount and an Aukey phone mount + charger. Wiring it in was more of a pain than expected due to the lack of the phone prep connector (standard in the US, an option here that my car doesn't have). However, its now in and a fantastic job. Mid-term I'm expecting to switch back to a single DIN setup so that I can do the lower console delete, that way the phone will be in a great place when I do.
