Rear number plate mount

Just swapping my registration over to my 991.

Removed the old plate - the previous owner had simple put three large blobs of what looked like silicon sealer to stick the plate on.

Have spent 30mins removing and cleaning I am left with the following (see picture)

Is there a mounting plate that sits on the bumper (looks like there are 4 original holes for self tappers plus 1 spurious 'modification' hole)?

Or is does the number plate screw directly into 2 of the 4 original holes? - seems a bit basic if that is the case.

Thoughts please?

Sorted.

I used some 5mm thick double sided pads.

These are thicker than the moulded in frame (which is approx 3mm proud)

Looks good.
